Allow me to share some information about moving transactions to the correct account and guide you on what to do, quickbooks11.

Generally, Journal entries are the last resort when you're unable to move transactions to the correct. This is the best way to move money between accounts and force books to balance. To create one, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Select + New.
  2. Select Journal entry.
  3. On the first line, select an account from the Account field. Depending on if you need to debit or credit the account, enter the amount in the correct column.
  4. On the next line, select the other account you're moving money to or from. Depending on if you entered a debit or credit on the first line, enter the same amount in the opposite column.
  5. Check the amounts - you should have the same amount in the Credit column on one line and the Debit column on the other. This means the accounts are in balance.
  6. Enter information in the memo section so you know why you made the journal entry.
  7. Select Save and new or Save and close.

Also, you'll have to make sure to update your bank moving forward to ensure that transactions are posted to the correct payroll account. Please check this article so you'll be guided: Change Your Accounting Preferences In QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Additionally, we have several payroll reports that you can view for useful information about business and employees. I've added this article for your reference: Run Payroll Reports.

Fill me in if you have questions about payroll accounts and transactions. I'll be right here to help.

Thank you for the info.
I really would rather not to do that. Instead, I need to understand why these transactions can’t be edited so I can change the bank account in each one to reflect the correct one.

It's good to have you back here, quickbooks11.

Let me share additional information on why you can't edit these transactions.

Usually, once payroll transactions are processed, you can no longer edit them. You may consider consulting with your accountant for additional guidance about this. This way, we'll ensure the accuracy of your accounts.

I've got an article you can read for future reference: Manually enter payroll paychecks in QuickBooks Online.

Also,  I encourage checking our employees and payroll taxes page for reference. There, you can read some of our great articles and learn some tips in managing your payroll.

Do get back to me if you have other concerns. I'm always here to back you up. Have a great day!
