I was able to reach my maintenance account site.  It showed that I have an active subscription.  However, when I return to my QB desktop , payroll shows red and says that I need to reactivate.

Hi there, JDuke.

If you've purchased your payroll service from us, there's a service key that will be sent to you via email. Then, you'll have to enter it to QuickBooks Desktop to activate your subscription.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Employees, and click Payroll.
  2. Click Enter Payroll Service Key.
  3. Enter the information needed, then click OK.

If you've purchased it from a retail store, I'd recommend to give us a call so our payroll representative can help you activate your payroll subscription. To do that, go to the Help tab, select QuickBooks Desktop Help, then choose the QuickBooks Support hyperlink.

Also, you can check this article about activating QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

You can get back to me if you need more help with your payroll subscription.
