Hi S Redfern,

This error code means that the system could not load the license data or there are missing/damaged files.

We can fix it by installing the latest Windows updates.

  1. Click the Windows logo.
  2. Select All Programs and click Windows Update.
  3. After installing the updates, install QuickBooks.

Then, install QuickBooks again. If the error persist, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article: Error 3371: Could not initialize license properties.

Keep up posted if you need anything else.

Let me help you sort this out, @sedita.

The Error Code 3371, Status Code -11118 means that the software is unable to load the license data due to missing or damaged files.

To fix this error, let's ensure to install the most recent update of Windows on your device.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Windows logo.
  2. Choose All Programs
  3. Click Windows Update.
  4. After installing the updates, install QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend consulting with a qualified IT professional or contact Microsoft as there may be corruption to your Windows Operating System.

I also have this error after replacing my HDD with a SSD.  The HDD was cloned directly to the SSD.

Windows 10 is up to date and I have tried to reinstall QB 2016 Pro several times.

Any other ideas?

Thank you for bringing this up to our attention, @hmeek.

I appreciate you doing some troubleshooting steps to fix the error. Let's perform other troubleshooting steps to get rid of the error and get you back to working order.

Since your Windows is updated and still getting the same error, let's delete the damaged file to get this resolved. Common errors, like Error 3371, can be fixed by deleting the entitlement file. Here's how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Ensure that all QuickBooks processes are no longer running.
  • From the keyboard, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc. This opens the Task Manager.Windows 10: Select More Details to show Task Manager
  • Select the Processes tab.
  • Sort the processes alphabetically by selecting the Process Name header.
  • Search for all instances of QBW32.EXE. And select and select End Task.

     3. Open the entitlement data folder for your operating system and version of QuickBooks.

  • On your keyboard, press Windows+R to open the Run window.
  • Enter C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 (or v6) and press Enter. (The folder location is the same for all QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise versions.)

     4. Right-click the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file, then click Delete.

     5. Click Yes to confirm.

Once done, you can now open your company file and follow the instruction to register the application.

Here's an article you can read on for more details: Resolve Installation Errors by Deleting Damaged File.

If the error persists, I recommend performing the clean install of QuickBooks Desktop for Windows to fix company file issues. For your reference, you can check out this article for the detailed steps and information: Clean Install QuickBooks Desktop.
