Zero out the accounts as of 12/31/2020 or the adjustment will show this year.

It would be easier to start a new subscription, copy (export) the lists and start new.

Thanks for coming back to us, @ron86.

I can help get a copy of your category in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. On the search bar, type Account List.
  3. Select the Export drop-down arrow, beside the small Gear icon.
  4. Choose Export to Excel.

To import to your new company file:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, choose Import data.
  3. Click Chart of Accounts.
  4. Select Browse to open the file.
  5. Locate the file, and then click Open.
  6. Click Next.

You can check this link for more information about exporting transactions in QBO: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

I've also added this article about customizing reports. It can help your transactions clear and organize: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in if you have other questions about exporting transactions in QBO. I'll be around to help you anytime.

I can help you with setting up a new company profile and delete the old one, @ron86

You can choose to delete your current account and then start over if it's less than 60 days. If it’s already beyond 60 days, then I suggest canceling your old account and create a new one. It'll be automatically deleted a year after you’ve canceled it.

One QuickBooks Online (QBO) is equivalent to one account. It's also designed for tracking a business, not personal finances. You can check for any other Intuit software that works perfectly in tracking personal finances.

You can follow the steps below on how to delete or purge the account:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany. Example: URL shows https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
  4. Type the word “YES” once the data gets deleted, then click OK.
  5. Click Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
  6. Once the deletion is complete, you will be rerouted to your home page.

If the account is beyond 60 days old, cancel the account and create a new one.

To cancel your account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Billing and subscription tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  4. Follow the steps to cancel your account. If you use payroll, you should cancel your payroll account too.

To start a new account:

  1. Go to quickbooks.intuit.com and choose your subscription.
  2. Follow the prompts to finish creating the account.
