You'll first need to change/update the primary work location state of your employee. This will tell the system that you no longer need to pay and file for the other state.

To update the employee's work location, please follow these steps:

  1. On the left navigation bar, click on Employees
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Click the pencil icon next to Employment (see first screenshot below).
  4. Select the appropriate address in the Work Location drop down.
  5. Click on Done

Once done, you'll need to inactivate the other work location state in the payroll settings so you will no longer be charged for the multistate fee.

  1. Click on the Gear icon and choose Payroll Settings
  2. In the Company and Account section, click on Work Locations
  3. Select the work location you want to inactivate.
  4. Check the box for Mark a work location inactive if you no longer have employees at this site (see second screenshot below).
  5. Click on Save

That should do it! Please let me know if you need anything else. I am here to help as much as I can.
