I issued a 1099-misc to a contractor and now find additional income. Can I issue a second 1099-misc or must I issue a correction?

you have to issue a correction, both the 1096 and the 1099

QB does not do corrected entries so you will have to do it manually, hand printed is ok as is a printer

Hi there, @alptrasurerer01.

Thanks for reaching out to Community. I'm happy to assist you with your 1099.

The 1099 E-File Service doesn't let you make corrections to a 1099 form after it has been e-filed. You can, however, make corrections in a printed copy and send it by mail to the IRS. For more information about correcting a 1099 form that has already been e-filed, check the IRS website.

Please Note: If the contractor of the 1099-MISC form wants the information corrected, you'll need to provide the corrected return to the contractor and file it again.

You can find more details here: Prepare and file Federal 1099s using QuickBooks Online.

If you have further questions, reach back out anytime. Take care and have a great week!
