I just switched payroll from Intuit through Bank of America to Quickbooks Payroll. Where's all my payroll data and history?

I am no longer able to connect to payroll services through Bank of America and I have no payroll data in Quickbooks Online.

Hi tom183,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your payroll data.

You'll want to contact Bank of America to request access to payroll. That way, you can retry exporting it again. Here's an article about exporting data to QuickBooks Online: Setup export of IOP data to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If the bank won't assist you, please reach out to our Payroll Support, so they can investigate this. They have more tools on their end.

Let me know if you have any other questions about your payroll. Good night!

I just discovered the real problem. I now have 2 companies in Quickbooks Online. My original company and now a new one for payroll. It didn't merged the data buy instead created a new company with the same name. How can I merge the data into one company?

Hello there, @tom183.

It's good to hear that you were able to identify the issue. Also, I got the point that you're making about merging the data into one company.

For now, the ability to merge two company data files into one company is currently not available in QuickBooks Online. What we can do is manually export the lists from one of your QuickBooks Online companies and import them into another.

To export your data, I'd recommend checking these articles for the complete steps and instructions:

To import them, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Import Data under Tools.
  3. Then, bring your existing data into QuickBooks. What we do is select the appropriate option on what type of data you're going to import.
  4. Follow the on-screen instruction.

Here's the sample screenshot:

If you're looking for more details about merging companies, data files, or copy lists, you can check this resource: Merge companies, data files, or copy lists.

Let me know if you have other concerns. I'll be around whenever you need help. Take care always.

None of these relate to payroll data and history. I should not have to set up Payroll again. All my data was moved to the wrong company. I'm in the middle of a year with several years of history under Intuit Payroll are now inaccessible. Since my "upgrade" to Quickbooks Payroll I have no data to work with. How can I get my payroll data back? I need someone to move my data from the newly created company (that I did not create) to the only company that I use, Cymations Inc.
