This isn't what I want you to experience with QuickBooks, @allhonestlynatur.

I'll make sure you'll be able to split your transaction by amount. You should be able to select Amount when splitting your transaction. I've attached a screenshot below for visual reference. 2.PNG

If this isn't available on your end, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

Let's rule out a possible browser cache issue. There are times the browser is full of frequently access data and can hindrance the performance of your account. To verify this, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account in a private or incognito window.

From there, split your transaction by Amount. Using a private window helps us verify the issue as this doesn't store any data files. You can use these keyboard shortcuts in opening an incognito window:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome browser)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge browsers)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari browser)

If you're able to split your transaction by Amount, I recommend logging back to your regular browser and delete its cache. If this is not the case, I propose using other supported browsers to narrow down the cause of this.

Once everything is all set, you might want to check out this resource for reference in categorizing your transactions: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'm all ears if you have any follow-up questions about splitting your transactions in QBSE. Feel free to add the details in your reply and I'll take care of it for you.
