I'm trying to run a P

Hello, kahandler-me-com.

I'd like to make sure we're on the same page. Are you trying to run payroll in QuickBooks? If so, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Payroll > Employees.
  2. Click on the Run payroll button.
  3. Choose a pay schedule, then Continue.
  4. Select the employees you want to pay.
  5. Verify if you have selected the correct bank account, pay period, and pay date. You can also modify them as needed. Change employee's pay method as needed.
  6. Enter hours worked if applicable. TIP: you can hide or show pay types by selecting the Settings ⚙ icon below the TOTAL PAY.
  7. Click Preview Payroll. To edit or preview a specific check, select the pencil icon next to the check's net pay, then hit OK when done.
  8. When you're ready, select Submit payroll.
  9. You're all set! To print paychecks, select Print paychecks, then Finish payroll.

No.  'P&L" is the abbreviated term for "Profit and Loss."

Appreciate the update, @kahandler-me-com.

May I know what are you trying to run saying it is not a Profit and Loss report or a payroll? Are you trying to run a payroll or is it something else?

Keep me updated in the comments below. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care always!

I'm sorry, I don't understand why this isn't clear.  I am running a "Profit and Loss by Tags' report.  I am customizing the report to include certain tags, and I also want to customize the accounts it includes, or more specifically, does NOT include.   I am selecting all of the accounts to start with and then UNSELECTING the one bank account I don't want to have it's transactions included in the results.   However, when I run the report, all the transactions that flowed through the bank account I don't want included are still showing up on the P&L report.  WHY and How to do exclude them.

Hello there, @kahandler-me-com.

To show specific details you want on the report, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Reports menu.
  2. Search for Profit and Loss by Tag Group in the box.
  3. Hit the Customize button.
  4. Pick the correct dates on the Report period field.
  5. In the Columns drop-down menu, select the correct group name.
  6. Click on Filter, then select the group name under Tags.
  7. Hit on Run Report

For future use, you can read this article to know more about your options to generate reports from QBO: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.
