I need to deduct a payroll advance on a retro check how do I do this in quickbooks desktop?

Hello agrmultiservices,

 

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can issue a paycheck outside of your regular pay schedule. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to Employees > Payroll Center.
  2. Select the Pay Employee tab, and click the Start Unscheduled Payroll button in the Create Paychecks section.
  3. Choose the Pay Period and the Check Date.
  4. Put a check mark on the employee you want to pay.
  5. Click Continue and then hit the Create Paychecks button.
  6. Select Close once done.
