I need to edit the date on a payroll paystub.

I'm providing my own paystubs to a lender. I see I made a mistake on the pay date of my last paycheck. It was paid to me 03/25/2025, but the date on the paystub says 04/11/2025. It's one of the things it WON'T let me edit. Any help?

Hello, lcsg82. Let's work hand-in-hand to fix the incorrect pay period dates on your paycheck in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If the paycheck is a direct deposit that has already been processed or is a paper check, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. They have the necessary tools to assist you with changing your pay period dates. Please note that this won't change the dates on the paper check unless you reprint the check.

However, if the direct deposit paycheck has been created but not yet processed, you can delete the paycheck and then recreate it with the correct pay period. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
  2. Click Run Payroll.
  3. Choose your desired payroll schedule, then Continue.
  4. Select the correct Pay period and Pay date.
  5. Choose the employees you'd like to pay.
  6. Select the column, or select Actions ⋮, then Edit paycheck to enter your pay details.
  7. Tick Preview payroll.
  8. Review the QuickBooks Bank account to track your payroll.
  9. Select Preview payroll details or Submit payroll and click Close once done.

Furthermore, learn how to print your paychecks in QBO by checking out this handy article: Print or reprint paychecks and pay stubs.

Explore QuickBooks Payroll if you're interested in taking payroll processing to the next level. Time-tracking features and faster direct deposits can be a game-changer for your business.
