To reduce the amount of the paycheck, you can apply or deduct the overpaid amount to the next payroll run.
Or, if you've created a direct deposit paycheck, and it was already processed, you can void the paycheck and recreate it with the correct amount. If it's still unprocessed, delete the paycheck and recreate it with the correct amount.
If it's an approved manual paycheck, delete and recreate it if it's the most recent one. And, do the same steps as the processed direct deposit paycheck if it not the most current one.
For the unapproved manual or direct deposit paychecks, you can edit them.

Hello,
I overpaid an employee last week via DD. It was his final pay. Can I still void the check via DD? How would I go about getting the overpayment back to the company?

Let me step in and assist you with your concern.
If the paycheck has been processed, you can reach get in touch with your employee to discuss the overpayment. For the taxes, you can void the paycheck, then recreate it. Just a heads up, it will not return the funds to your company, it'll only correct the taxes.
