I ran payroll yesterday and QB says it was processed but no one got paid

Hello @kari12,

We were alerted to a third-party issue with direct deposit processing this morning that has delayed the deposit of employees' paychecks into their accounts. The issue has been resolved and your employees should expect to see the funds available in their bank account by end of the day today.

We know how critical each paycheck is to your team. This is, even more, the case in our current environment. Thank you for your patience as we focus to ensure your employees’ funds are available as soon as possible.

This just happened to me.  I ran payroll on 5/5/22 and no one got paid.  My bank shows both direct deposit amounts being deducted from my payroll account, however they show the transactions "in-process", meaning they are not "completed"  I'm waiting on the WSFS Bank rep to come back from hold to hopefully explain what needs to happen to be completed.  From their perspective, QuickBooks (Intuit) is the 3rd party and they think that the 3rd party needs to do something in order for the money to be deposited into the employees' bank accounts.  What was the 3rd party issue you identified and who is the 3rd party if not Inutit?

Hello ivy league!

The reply of JoaoF is from the last year and the third-party issue he mentioned has been resolved already. I'm here to explain the possible reason why employees haven't received their pay yet.

Direct deposit lead times in QuickBooks Online Payroll vary. This determines how many days before your payment date you should send us your payroll for processing.

If you're on the Same-day lead time, you should submit your payroll before 7 AM PT. For Next-day, you should submit it before 5 PM PT and business days in advance before 5 PM PT if you're on a 5-day direct deposit lead time. Otherwise, it'll be processed on the next business day which will result in delays.

Follow these steps on how to review your funding time:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Payroll settings.
  3. Scroll to the Direct Deposit section. You'll see your funding time above your direct deposit limits.

In addition, it'd be best to reach out to our Support Team so they can review your account and see the root cause of why your employees haven't received their pay yet.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "DD Payroll".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

Also, I added these links for more details about direct deposit lead times and how to run payroll reports:

I'm more than happy to work with you again in managing your payroll. Want to run a specific report? Let me know and I'll get back to you again.
