Join nowGood day, jessicawoolard,
To claim the complimentary QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can use this link: selfemployed.intuit.com/turbotax.
Note that this is going to be a separate account with what you have right now. Here's an article about the free account: My QuickBooks Self-Employed from TurboTax Self-Employed is expiring.
You can check this article for future reference: Send your info to TurboTax if your QuickBooks Self-Employed account is different from your TurboTax ....
Let me know if you have additional questions about this.
Hi!
when you say new account, does that mean all of my information that ive entered for the year will be gone?
thanks!
jessica
Hello there, @jessicawoolard.
I'm here to verify what'll happen to the information you've entered in your current QuickBooks Self-Employed account. This way, you'll be able to decide which QBSE account you'll use moving forward.
The new QBSE account mentioned by my colleague above is a complimentary one that's good for a year. It'll be reactivated once you file your taxes through TurboTax.
Once your current QBSE login information is different from your TurboTax credentials, you'll have to create a new QBSE account. However, you'll have the option to move your data to the free account. This means, your information from the current one will not be gone.
In case you've decided to use the free QBSE account, I'd recommend contacting or QuickBooks Self-Employed Support team. They can perform the data swap process to transfer your information to the new one.
Additionally, you'll have to complete the Tax Checklist, create a file of all your tax documents, and run year-end reports so you can file your taxes. For the complete details of each task, kindly refer to this article: QuickBooks Self-Employed tax guide.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
Hi Rea,
I am having a similar problem. After years of using QBSE with my turbo tax subscription, and filing my taxes with Turbo Tax again this year, for some reason I am no longer provided with the free bundled QBSE subscription. I seem to be unable to get a hold of any type of customer support to rectify the issue. Can you please help?
Thanks
Hey there, @Paz8.
Thanks for following the thread and sharing your concerns.
Although we would be more than happy to extend our hands to help you out, you'll need to contact our customer service team. Our customer service team can review your account in a secure environment and take a look at the details of your free subscription. I've included the steps to contact support below.
On a web browser:
Please let me know if there's anything else that I can do for you. You can reach out to the Community at anytime. Take care!
thanks for the adivce, however I've already seen that info on your webpage and I do not see any option to chat with an assistant, and I do not see a phone number for customer support anywhere. You could make it easier to contact someone instead of trapping me in an endless loop on the community board
Hi Paz8!
I know that getting a free subscription to QuickBooks Self-Employed is a great help to self-employed and freelancers like you. I'm joining this thread so I can share some details about it.
Starting May 1, 2021, you'll need a separate subscription for the QBSE to continue using it. You can also upgrade to a Tax Bundle or Live Bundle which will cover subscriptions for both QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed.
For your reference, please check this link: What to do before your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription from TurboTax Self-Employed expires.
In addition, instead of the Assistant, you can click the Help button. Then, follow these steps:
You can visit this page for more references in managing your account: QBSE Account Management.
Please reply again here if you need anything else. Take care!
This sucks. The only reason I used QBSE was because it was included with Turbo Tax. I continued to use Turbo Tax in subsequent years because of the QBSE inclusion. Taking that away basically means that you are significantly reducing Turbo Tax's bang for the buck.
QBSE was a nice tool to help me track things like mileage and expenses, but for $180/year there is no way in hell I will be using it anymore. I can just as easily make a spreadsheet to track manually and do the math myself when its time to file.
I am extremely disappointed in this decision by Intuit and would hope that they reconsider this decision
Yeah, it is really disappointing. I got so overwhelmed last year and after a lot of wasted time, nothing ever got resolved. I’ve been thinking about cancelling my subscription as well, and I think you just helped me make the right decision. So thank you!
