I voided a pay check instead of deleting it. I need to reissue it as a direct deposit, but can't go through the run payroll process. How can I fix this issue?

We’ll have to perform some basic troubleshooting steps to get you back on track running payroll.

Before proceeding, make sure the direct deposit feature is active. This to ensure you can reissue a direct deposit paycheck.

If it's already turned on, sign in to QBO using a private window or incognito mode. This helps us determine if the cause of the issue is the browser's cache that's preventing you from running payroll.

Here are the shortcut keys for each browser:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Then, go back to the Employees page and process payroll. If you’re able to create a create paycheck (direct deposit), I recommend clearing your cache and cookies for the browser to function more efficiently.

Alternatively, use another browser if you continue to get the same result. However, if you encounter any errors, leave a comment below. This way, I’ll be able to check if we have a reported issue.

Let me share this article for an overview of when to use the delete or void feature. It includes instructions on how to perform the task for each payroll version: Delete or void paychecks.

Additionally, this article contains resources that will guide you on how to efficiently manage any payroll processes. Click on the topic to view the complete details: QBO Payroll.
