Welcome to the Community space, greatbasinwaters

QuickBooks Online (QBO) requires a unique employee name. With that, the system will detect if there is a similar name that was set up in the program. You'll want to review and make sure names are not duplicate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu on the left navigation screen.
  2. Choose Employees.
  3. Scroll down and scan the names to check if there is similar to what you're trying to set up.

Additionally, I recommend the following resource, which contains some information about the payroll schedules, as well as customizing an employee:

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have additional questions while managing employees or about anything QuickBooks. Have a great day ahead.

Where is the screen to edit or view an employee's personal I see the reports to view Employee Directory and Employee Details, but that doesn't let me edit. I converted from QB Desktop and there was a lot more employee the employee set up is completed and you have run your first payroll.

Viewing and editing the employee information in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is easy peasy. You can go to the Employees menu and view each employee's details from there. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click Payroll from the left menu, then select Employees.
  3. Select each employee from the list to view their information.1.PNG
  4. In the Employee details section, click the pencil icon to edit each information.2.PNG
