I would like to assign an employee as the lead contact on a project. When I run an unbilled charges report, I can tell which employee is attached to that project.

Other employees will be able to contribute time to the project, But one will be considered the lead contact.

Hi there, Hyatt. It is not possible to assign an employee as the lead contact on a project since we can only attach employees through timesheets.

I can see the benefit of this option for you and other customers. For now, it would be most effective to communicate your feedback directly to our Product Developers. They're genuinely interested in hearing your input and highly encourage you to share your suggestions.

To send your input, here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
  3.  Under the Profile section, select Feedback.
  4. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.

To keep updated on the product's latest release and updates, you can check out this article: QuickBooks Blog.

Moreover, I've included an article on project management in QBO, addressing various tasks for tracking project profitability: Manage projects in QuickBooks Online.
