Import payroll from 3rd party with project costs allocated

We're in construction.

 

We run our payroll through Heartland Payroll. How do we take a final Payroll report from that 3rd Party and sync/import to Quickbooks?

 

Also, we then want to categorize the Labor/Hours to the appropriate project.

Welcome to the Community space, Colleen.

 

You'll have to prepare your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account so you can integrate it into Heartland payroll. Part of the preparation is setting up your QBO chart of accounts to match with Heartland.

 

Before integrating into QBO, I recommend contacting Heartland support. They'll be able to give you a list of accounts that should be in your QBO account, as well as for instructions on how to run the Final Payroll Report using their software.

 

In addition, you can set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online to categorize or track the labor/hours of the respective project. Please see this article for more details about the process: Set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online.
