In Quickbooks Online, how do I adjust a payroll tax payment amount.

I have to pay both Form 943 taxes (monthly) and Form 941 taxes quarterly. Quickbooks Online is lumping everything as a Form 941 tax. How can I record a tax payment for only part of the payroll taxes.

I've got some information to share regarding adjusting payroll tax payments in QuickBooks Online.

 

If you've just recorded the tax payment manually in the system, you have the option to delete it. This way, you'll be able to recreate it with the right amount.

 

Here's how you can delete the payment:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, click Taxes from the left menu and select Payroll Tax.
  2. Click View tax payments you have made from the Taxes section.1.PNG
  3. Select the date range, then choose the name of the tax payment.2.PNG
  4. Choose Delete from the drop-down.3.PNG
  5. Click Yes to confirm.

However, if payments were processed electronically through QuickBooks, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. They have the tools that can help process the tax payment adjustment.

 

To reach them:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Hit on the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Press on Let's talk.
  5. Select on Get a callback.
  6. Key in your contact details, then tap on Confirm my call.
