There are several possible reasons why the Run payroll button is no longer working on your end. I've listed them below:
- Ensure your client's QBO Payroll subscription is active.
- Verify you have the appropriate user Role to run a payroll, I suggest contacting your client/primary principal officer to check for changes made to his/her account.
However, if none of this is the case, let's perform some basic troubleshooting to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Sometimes, system errors emerge due to accumulated cache. With this, we can try logging in to your QBO account using a private browser, as it ignores websites from using cookies and doesn’t record any history and data:
- Safari: Shift + ⌘ + N
- Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: Shift + CTRL + P
- Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
If you see the Run payroll option, go back to your regular browser and clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result, I recommend switching to a different supported browser.
