Hello Nathan, welcome aboard here in the community. QuickBooks Time does support breaks, but setting an automatic reminder exactly 4 hours and 55 minutes after each clock‑in for every shift, regardless of start time, is not available. You can, however, create a break rule with a fixed duration that triggers after a set portion of the shift.
You can arrange break times effectively by using automatic break rules along with some manual reminders. This lets you specify when breaks should occur during shifts, for example, after a certain number of hours. If shifts vary among employees, it’s important to ensure the rules apply based on each employee’s clock‑in time. The break trigger is tied to how long they’ve worked, not to one fixed time of day.
Keep in mind that this setup may not consistently match a specific time, such as 4:55, for every employee on every day. You can also use manual breaks with reminders, instructing employees to begin their lunch break at the 4‑hour‑55‑minute mark. Enabling reminders can prompt them to take breaks; however, this approach depends on employees following the reminders and may be less reliable for payroll.
