Good afternoon, @skjbarry.

QuickBooks Online will include all properly configured local taxes automatically. Our extensive guide on How QuickBooks Populates W-2 explains that Local Income, Taxes, etc. appear in Boxes 18, 19, and 20. In order to ensure these items have been set up correctly, head to the Community link here and search for [Your State] Local Tax for further instructions. If you'd like, you can also share the state you're working with here and I'll be more than happy to lend a hand.

If you're able to determine the taxes weren't set up properly, since this information is concerning a prior tax year, you'll need to reach out to our awesome Payroll Support Team so a correction can be filed. Here's how:

Contacting the QuickBooks Support Team

  1. Navigate to the Intuit Contact Portal by clicking the link.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online from the menu.
  3. Choose the problem types from the selections below that correspond with your issue.
  4. Click Get Phone Number.

They'll help you gather the necessary tax and payroll information to complete a correction. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me here should you need any additional assistance, I'm always up to talk QuickBooks. Thanks for bringing us your question, cheers to a productive rest of the week.
