Let's perform some steps so you can get past the 502 Bad Gateway error and help you stay logged in to the account, @gogetem.
This error occurs when one server receives an invalid response from the upstream server. Also, it could be the browser's cache is full, which is why the program logs you out after 5 minutes.
In this case, you'll first have to access your QBOE account using a private window. This is a good start to help isolate the issue since it doesn’t store data in the cache. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox & Internet Explorer)
Command + Shift + N (Safari)
Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
Then, you can create an invoice again. If it works perfectly fine, you'll need to clear the cache of your regular browser. This fixes the unexpected behavior of the product.
Once done, you can keep your account active for three hours. This way, you won't be logged out while creating transactions or even if you leave your account open. Please take note that you'll need to be the Master Admin to have this option. Here's how:
Go to the Settings (Gear) icon at the upper right.
Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
Go to Advanced from the left menu.
Select the Other Preferences section.
Choose 3 hours from the Sign me out if inactive for drop-down.
