It says my payroll subscription is active on my Intuit account online, but my Quickbooks Desktop application does no longer recognize the account is active, so it does not let me process payroll tax forms. What is the way to correct this issue?

Thank, Rich

Rest assured, we're here to help and can guide you through some solutions to ensure your tax forms are sent on time.

We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you're trying to keep everything running smoothly when processing payroll tax forms in QuickBooks Desktop, SMontreux. We can provide some solutions for you to send tax forms on time.

Let's dive into this together to process the tax forms on time. Let's start signing in and out of the Account Maintenance page to establish a connection with your account. Here's how:

  1. Click the Employees tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Please hover your mouse to My Payroll Service and select Account/Billing Information
  3. Try signing in and out.
  4. Check the status of your payroll subscription.

After following the steps above, make sure the software is up-to-date by following the steps below:

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Tap Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Hit the Update Now tab.
  4. Put a checkmark beside Reset Update and hit Get Updates.

If the same thing happens, please register your QuickBooks Desktop and update it to the latest release. Once done, we can download the latest payroll tax table update in QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, run the Quick Fix My Program from QuickBooks Tool Hub to process payroll tax forms. Here's how:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Download and install QuickBooks Tool HubSave the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install, and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  4. Once finished, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon to open.
  5. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems.
  6. Click Quick Fix my Program.
  7. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file. Then, download the latest tax table.
  8. If the issue persists, please set up firewall and security settings for QuickBooks Desktop.
