Journal Entry

I have some wages that are classified under "Not Specified", I am unable to edit them due to them being DD and processed. How could I enter a journal entry to move the wages to a class? Can someone please show me?

Thank you,

Journal Entry

Let me help you with this one, raerae6.

The transactions will be under "Not Specified" if your Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or Payroll transactions because their related transactions (Receive Payment, Pay Bills) can’t be split into different locations. Also, if the related transactions need to be split into different locations, we can divide the transaction based on location or use a journal entry to record them.

Since this is a processed direct deposit, I'd suggest contacting our Payroll Support Team to help you with the correction. You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. See our support hours and types for more details about this one. Here's how to reach the support:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Help button.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Type your concern in the box, then click Let's talk.
  5. You can choose between Message an agent or Get a callback.
  6. Enter the needed details to connect with a live support agent.

Another option to resolve this one is to create a journal entry. In his case, it would be best to consult your accountant on how to enter a journal entry to move the wages to a class. They'll also provide you details on how the posting account you'll need to apply for.

Feel free to visit our Payroll page for more insight about managing your payroll in QuickBooks.
