Just recorder a payment to Federal Taxes through transactions page. Shouldn't the estimated taxes due decrease since I made this payment?

Hi jeffreyanderle,

 

Yes, it should decrease the estimated tax due after making a payment. 

 

Below are the steps to follow to mark the taxes paid.

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Click the Add transaction button.
  3. Enter the date, description, and amount.
  4. Select Estimated Taxes for the category.
  5. Click Save.

Let's make sure you're using the right category. Then, the payment should show in the Amount Paid column in the Taxes tab.
