learn how to uncheck Full Payroll in my Company Preferences

I am trying to uncheck "Full Payroll" in my Company Preferences and QB will not allow me to uncheck by checking "No Payroll"

I used to subscribe the full payroll many years ago but cancelled it in 2008 when the economy went bad.

Welcome to the Community, @Leonies.

When setting up company preferences, make sure QuickBooks is updated to the latest version. Let's also ensure you're logged in as an Administrator.

Once done, you can follow these steps on how to set up preferences for Payroll:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences window, choose Payroll & Employees on the left menu.
  3. Select the Company Preferences tab.
  4. Then choose No payroll if you don't use QuickBooks Desktop Payroll services.
  5. Click OK.

Thank you for the reply, however I already did all the steps suggested a number of times, updated QB and finally got to speak to a support person, who, after trying several things, could not resolve my issue and gave me thePayroll Help phone number.  The phone number and all the other phone numbers for QB support has yet to be availlable and won't answer, after a long recorded assistant exercise to get me to the right party.

Could be a Virus condition right now.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions.  I had already tried all the suggestions and was able to speak with a Support person for QB who tried several things virtually without success and told me that I needed to speak with the Payroll department and gave me a phone number that is not answering now.

I have called all the QB phone numbers that have been suggested without any luck.

Hopefully, when this Corona Virus subsides, I will be able to reach someone.

Thanks for your prompt response, @equigym.

I know how beneficial it is to get phone support that can assist you right away in person. To make sure that this is taken care of, I'd suggest reaching them during this time frame 6 AM-6 PM PT from Monday-Friday. Please know that our staffing is limited and has reduced our support hours due to COVID-19.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks and then press F1.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern and then Continue.
  4. Choose to Start messaging/Geat a callback.

For more details about how to reach our phone and chat support, you can refer to this article: Contact Support.

Also, you can use this link to chat with our Payroll Support during the said time frame: Payroll Chat.

I'll wait for your reply if you have more questions. I'll be happy to help. Stay safe and healthy!
