There are steps to follow before canceling the lost check in the register for the accuracy of your books.
If you still want to reissue a check, you’ll want to modify first the original paycheck. Let me show you how:

Then you need to void the check to balance your register. You can use the magnifying icon to easily locate the transaction. Then replace the check number to match the original (the lost) check. After, select More then choose Void. You can use this reference for more detailed instructions.
Otherwise, void/delete the paycheck in the list, including check entry under the bank register. You can simply go to your Chart of Accounts and then select the bank. Under the Bank Register, you’re able to view the event.
