The Michigan Form 5080 needs to be updated to remove the banner and warning that it is for 2024 - when the heading and form has already been updated for 2025. You can see the correct form behind the banner - but you can not use it because of the Banner.
Any idea when QuickBooks may correct the error?
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, DS CPA. I have some helpful information that will allow you to remove the banner, giving you quick and easy access to your 5080 tax form in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll.
If I may ask first, are you referring to the banner that keeps popping up on your home screen? If so, QBDT uses pop-ups to suggest new features and updates to enhance your experience. However, you can always turn this feature off for convenience.

That is not the problem - on the actual form created a banner prints that says DO NOT FILE - FORM VALID FOR TAX YEAR 2024 - and the form under those banners says 2025. Your form updates say it is the current form but it can not be used with the banner prinint in three places over the top.
Trying to figure out how to get that to not print? I have ran all the updates for my software.
We have encountered the same 5080 MI form issue. Online form displays with correct month and year, but wants to print as a non-filing form for 2024.
I get a warning in desktop version. Have you downloaded the latest payroll tax forms? (Yes, I have.) You are about to create a tax form for the 2025 tax year, but the form currently install in Quick Books Desktop is for the 2024 tax year. .... I had this same issue last year. Quick Books needs to get it together, especially since the programs have gotten so extremely expensive.
I recognize how concerning printing the non-filing form for 2024 is when the MI Form 5080 is up to date, Carie. Publishing it with the correct date is essential for compliance with state tax laws and regulations, so let me help you connect with our support team to resolve this error.

FYI I spent 1 hour on the phone with payroll support. They are under the impression that we only have to file quarterly and can't do anything about it. I went to State of Michigan and filled form 5080 out online and printed it out. You have the option of filing electronically at that time. Good luck!
Thank you. Yes, I did the same. I had to do that last year too.
