Buy nowI generate payroll tax returns in QBO, print them, and then file them myself. I prepared a 940 for 2025 through QBO. I was asked for a copy and decided to log in and just print one out, but it is missing. Only W-2's show up and some (but not all) of my quarterly returns. I have checked everywhere (archived, etc.). What happened to my previously generated 940? I was planning to set up another company on QBO, but am seriously having doubts now!!
Hi Mahoopus98. I know how important it is to quickly find your Form 940 in QBO, especially when it’s not showing up as expected. The good news is your Form 940 is still there and hasn’t been lost.
Since you’ve already checked the archives and it’s still missing, I’ll connect you with our Live Support team. They can look into your account and help you locate that Form 940.
Here’s how:

I would NOT recommend setting up a new company with QBO or any Intuit software. I am not sure if you are aware of what QB's is doing to all of their customers starting July 1st but they are making it mandatory for everyone to sign up for automated payroll tax payments where QB's is not going to deduct the money for our taxes on the day we process payroll even thought taxes are not due for 8 day to up to 4 months for some of the taxes. They are trying to force us to give them OUR money a week to months early so they can collect interest on OUR money or make short-term investments using OUR money. It's like getting a loan for FREE. I am sure they will try to INCREASE the ridiculous fees we already pay them too yet they are forcing us to do this! Currently since we do not have time to find a new software and migrate to a new software in less than 3 months we are transferring our payroll to our accountant to process with the platform she uses for the payroll service she already offers to a lot of her clients. She said she has had 15+ clients reach out to her about processing their payroll because they refuse to allow QB's to FORCE them to do this. I can't believe that this isn't illegal. How can they FORCE us to let them pay our bills? We didn't ask for this. I did reach out to the Attorney General in my state and ask about this. We are trying to get as many people as we can to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against Intuit/QuickBooks. It only takes a few minutes.
