My 941 was rejected by IRS, upon review it says that my business closed and stopped payroll on 12/6 and closed business(part3 line 17) but I paid payroll taxes after.

The representatives say they can't remove it to go ahead and file it won't matter.  I disagree because it is contradictory.  I am unable to uncheck the box and remove the business close date.  What can I do?

Hi sales93,

It is very important to review all the details before filing to avoid correction.

You’ll want to file an Amend or Forms 941-X  to correct all the details you need to change.

As soon as you discover an error on a previously filed Form 941, you can correct the error using Form 941-X. You must complete all three pages of the form.

Be sure to file a separate Form 941-X for each Form 941 you are correcting, and please file the Form 941-X separately.

For additional help with Form 941-X, refer to the IRS Instructions for Form 941-X.
