Hi there, Precisionnemtcpa. You can modify your EIN and State tax ID number through Payroll settings.

Here's how to change your State tax ID number:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select the Payroll settings.
  3. Click the Pencil icon in line with the state you want to update.
  4. Enter the correct State tax ID number in the EDD Employer tax Account Number box.
  5. Hit Save, then Done.

For the EIN, if you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, you'll have to contact our Payroll Live Support team to update it in our system.

For QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium and Payroll Elite, the process depends on whether automatic tax payments and filings have been turned on. If they are enabled:

  1. Download, fill out, and sign the Entity change packet.
  2. Prepare the supporting documents listed in the packet.
  3. Email the completed packet along with the supporting documents to EntityChanges@intuit.com.
  4. Update any additional info, such as your company DBA address in Settings or your payroll contacts.

On the other hand, if they aren't, please refer to the section titled If you have automatic tax payments and filings turned off in the article: Change your Employer Identification Number (EIN) for payroll.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out anytime. We always have your back.
