My historical payroll data was entered when setting up online payroll. It appears to have been deleted. How do I re-enter and why did it get deleted?

Specifically previous employee wages fro Q1 2020 and tax liabilities for Q1

My historical payroll data was entered when setting up online payroll. It appears to have been deleted. How do I re-enter and why did it get deleted?

Hi there, LP24.

 

Since you verified that your historical payroll data was entered but it appears to have been deleted, I suggest running the Payroll Details report. This report gives you detailed info on your employee's payroll. And, to check if the payroll data was entered successfully.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Reports from the left panel.
  2. Go to the search icon and type the Payroll Details report.
  3. Select the specific date range to show the exact payroll data you want to see.
  4. Choose the employee, work location, and the Workers' Comp Class.
  5. Hit the Run Report button.

 

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to check your account to see the cause of why the historical payroll data entered has been deleted.

 

Here's how to contact them:

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
  2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Under What can we help you with?, enter your concern about historical payroll data.
  5. Click Let's Talk.
  6. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.

 

  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

 

  7. Select how you want to contact them and fill in the information.

My historical payroll data was entered when setting up online payroll. It appears to have been deleted. How do I re-enter and why did it get deleted?

Unfortunately this did not work.  The historical payroll data appears to have been deleted after I ran my first payroll.  Employees YTD earning reflect one paycheck, instead of YTD earning from 1/1 to present.

Currently, we have an on-going issue where users, like you, whose historical payroll data is not showing on your reports and pay stub totals. Rest assured that we've already informed our product engineers about this and they're in all hands working to fix this as soon as possible.

 

With this, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support so you'll be added to the list of affected users. With their tools, someone can help you create a payroll correction case to fix the total of your year-to-date payroll. To do so, you can follow the steps shared by my colleague above.
