You might want to send your payroll a day earlier than usual, laarni-shimizu.

We don’t process direct deposit on weekends and holidays. Since December 25 is a federal holiday you’ll want to use December 24 as your paycheck date. For it to post on the 24th, you can consider sending it before 5 PM PST on Friday, December 20.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Payroll Employees menu and Payroll Center
  2. Click Start Scheduled Payroll
  3. Under the Payroll Information section, change the CHECK DATE (12/24/2019).
  4. Review the employees paycheck details. .
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Before submitting please review the dates again.
  7. Select Create Paychecks once the dates are correctly entered.

I have a few articles that you can check on how Federal banking holidays affect your direct deposit processing. This reference will give you options when to process payroll when the schedule is within a valid business holiday.

I'd be here if you have further questions with paying your employees. Have a great day!

No, because the banks aren't open to apply the money.  Christmas is a Federal bank holiday.
