Nebraska state unemployment wage base increase

I am a Nebraska employer that is not subject to the increase in the unemployment wage base ($9K to $24K).  Where do I locate the settings for insuring additional unemployment taxes are not calculated on the amounts above the standard $9K wage base?   When I go through the Payroll setup for NE taxes and enter 0% for the NE - UI Wage Base Increase payroll item, it then states that there is "missing information".  If I put a rate other than 0%, it no longer states "missing information".  Is putting 0% as the rate and just proceed with processing payroll the right thing to do?   thanks.

Nebraska state unemployment wage base increase

Hi @WWLLC,

Thank you for posting here in the Community. Let me help you handle your unemployment taxes in QuickBooks Desktop.

Yes, you're correct with the workaround. You'll need to enter a rate of 0% and proceed with processing payroll if the increased wage limit does not apply. By doing so, the system will avoid calculating additional wage base in QuickBooks.

I've also attached an article you can use as a reference to ensure compliance with your state tax regulations in QuickBooks: Nebraska Payroll Tax Compliance.

Drop me a comment below if you have any other questions with your payroll. I'll be happy to help you some more.
