To change the state unemployment tax in your QBO account, you'll need first to delete the checks and recreate them after. When done, follow these steps to change the SUI rate:

Just in case you don't see the option to change the SUI rate, you might using QuickBooks Online Payroll Full Service. To help you change the rate, you'll need to reach out to our Payroll support team.

Similar has happened to me. What is the best way to make adjustments. I need to reimburse the employee.
You'll need QBs phone support to adjust and send them a copy of your FL RT-6 tax doc that shows the .0029 percentage. they have a hard time calculating it as I had the same problem - mine was .0010 and so what you already paid $7.83 is correct not the $78. Unfortunately, we cannot change in the system ourselves, QBs thinks it's too low and inaccurate, hence why we can't change and they have to. They will also recalculate any overage or under payments and adjust the system. I've spent many hours and days in phone support and finally we went with a payroll system through our bank. Much less headaches for the person handling. Hope this helps.
