Need to write a paycheck early instead of Direct deposit

Hi there, @tomjhuff.

Thanks for joining the Community today. I can walk you through on how to write a paycheck instead of Direct Deposit.

If your employee is set up for direct deposit, you can turn off direct deposit for one payroll and create a regular check.

Here's how:

  1. Select Workers from the left panel.
  2. Select the Employees tab.
  3. Choose Run payroll.
  4. Select the direct deposit icon at the right of the employee's name.
  5. Select Paper check.
  6. Preview and submit the rest of your payroll as you normally would.
  7. Finish the payroll and don't forget to print or write the paper check and give it to the employee.

I got here some helpful articles that you can refer to about this process:

The steps given above will surely help you in writing a paycheck earlier than Direct Deposit.

Please don't hesitate to post any questions that you may have. Cheers to a productive and prosperous day.
