Once I have set up child support deductions for an ee. Where can I find those deductions at as they come out of his pay? Is there a special folder where they collect?

Hi there, branden@thefrees.

I'd be happy to show you where you can add the Child support garnishment in your employee's profile. You can set it up in the Employee's details page section 5 Deductions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
  2. Locate and click on the employee's name.
  3. Go to section 5 Does (employee's name) have any deductions? and Add deductions.
  4. In the Deduction/contribution or garnishment section, choose Garnishment.
  5. In the Garnishment drop-down, select Child Support.
  6. Enter the details in the blank fields.
  7. Select OK and Done. This is how it should look like:

To know more about handling wage garnishments, you can check out this article: Set up and assign garnishments.

I've added this article whenever you need to track your employees' wages in QuickBooks Online: Run payroll reports. This contains specific reports with its applications so that you can easily track the specific detail that you need.

You're always welcome to tag my name if you need further assistance or questions. I'd be very glad to answer them. Enjoy your day and take care always!
