One of my sub-tenants is set up with recurring transactions, but I am also hiring them and putting them on Payroll & it won't let me add them onto Payroll. Please advise

Quickbooks only allows one incidence of a name across all lists. The workaround is to change the tenant name by adding a period to the end. Then you can add this person as an employee. You could just add them new with the slight name change I suggested but then that period would print on the W2 and could cause issues uploading tax data. So change existing name - then add original as new
