Paychecks printing wrong but regular checks printing fine

Hey I am having problems getting my paychecks to align correctly. I went into print set up an aligned them perfectly fine and regular checks print okay but when I go to run payroll and print checks they come out misaligned. Why isn't QB using the same alignment for both check printing processes?

I got you covered on aligning your paychecks correctly, @jjcuccia13.

Regular checks and paychecks have unique printing preferences. This is why they have different alignment processes.

If you have a QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced or Intuit Online Payroll subscription, we can follow these steps.

First, let's set up the printing preferences. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear ⚙ icon, and then select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Preferences section, choose Paycheck Printing.
  3. Pick Preprinted QuickBooks-compatible voucher check stock.
  4. Tap Print 1 stub or Print 2 stubs, and then hit OK.

Then, let's set up the check alignment. I'll guide you how:

  1. Choose Open Alignment Window, and then print the sample check.
  2. Follow the instructions, and then close the window.
  3. Pick Align Checks, and then print the PDF file.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions, and then enter the letter and number that fits best.
  5. Tap Update Settings, and then click OK.
