Payroll and direct deposit

Yes, QuickBooks can tabulate your payroll and use direct deposit to pay your employees, @MistyM123.

Using payroll, you can pay your employees with direct deposit. You can start by setting up your company and your employees' information

Then, have your employees fill out, sign, and date a direct deposit authorization form. To proceed, please follow the steps below:

  1. Choose Taxes and select Payroll Tax.
  2. Click Employee Setup.
  3. When you reach the Authorization for Direct Deposit section, choose Bank Verification.
  4. Click View and print.

After you complete the setup, the next paycheck you create will be a direct deposit. For detailed steps, please see Step 3 in this article: Manage your employees' direct deposit.

Once done, you can print your paychecks, or pay your payroll taxes

I'm only a post away if you need more help managing your employee's direct deposit. It's always my pleasure to help you out again. Stay safe!

Payroll and direct deposit

Hello,

I want the direct deposit to come directly from my bank and not from QB.  They will not increase my weekly limit high enough to pay all my employees.  So I need QB to generate and keep track of what each employee is getting each week and i will do a direct deposit from my bank.

Payroll and direct deposit

Appreciate the update, @MistyM123. I'll share insights about the direct deposit in QuickBooks.

Paying employees using direct deposit use upfront funds from QuickBooks. This is to ensure they'll receive them timely in case the account doesn't have enough money the day of processing the direct deposit payroll.

Since you want to process the funds directly taken from your payroll bank account, I suggest sending a request via feedback. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under PROFILE, select Feedback.
  3. Enter a few describing how you wanted to use the direct deposit payroll processing.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Click Skip and send message.

Meanwhile, you can send us a request discussing the need to increase the limit placed on your direct deposit payroll. Use this article to learn more: What To Do if there is an Error Message About Direct Deposit Limits?

I'm adding this reference so you're able to track the status of your request as well as the latest updates from our developer team: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions besides this one. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I can assist you further.
