So how come Intuit charged me $4.00 per employee surcharge, rather than the $2.50 they were supposed to with the new extortionist rates?

I can help you check why you were charged this amount, Memphis_Jim.

 

The per employee surcharge is only $2.00 per employee per month. You can go to the billing section to review how much you are charged for the payroll subscription.

 

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. Go to the Payroll section and check the charge.

I'd also suggest contacting our Customer Service Team. They have secure access to your account, and can check why received $4.00 per employee surcharge.

Follow my colleague's steps at the top to check the payroll charge.

 

You can also reach out to our payroll support so an agent can take a better look at this. They can pull up your account and verify the charges. Here's how:

  1. Click Help inside QuickBooks Online.
  2. Choose Contact us
  3. Enter a brief description of your issue, then click Continue.
  4. Click either Start a chat or Get a callback.
