Payroll Direct Deposit bank account post wrong account in QB

You're on the right track, @texas210. We'll walk you through correcting the posting account for your payroll transactions inside QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Since you already modified the bank account used to manage direct deposits, ensure to update the payroll posting account to your preferred account inside the program. This way, it'll no longer post transactions in your old payroll bank account. These are the steps:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Desktop company.
  2. Click the Employees menu, then select Send Payroll Data.
  3. On the Send/Receive Data window, click Preferences.
  4. In the Account Preferences, choose the new bank account from the ▼ dropdown.
  5. click OK to save your changes.
  6. Select Close on the Send/Receive Data window.

For further guidelines, please check Step 6 inside this page: Change your payroll bank account.

Additionally, here's an article to help you manage your employee's information inside the program: Edit or change employee info in payroll.

Payroll Direct Deposit bank account post wrong account in QB

Updating the account for direct deposit doesn't change existing data. To do that, edit the data and change the account as needed.
