Payroll filing 941

I am trying to file my Q12020 quarterly 941 and am receiving the following message You cannot file a return for 1st quarter 2020 Form 941 is for current tax year. Form 941 is for the current tax year, quarters 2, 3, 4. Quickbooks only stores one version of the Federal 941 tax form. Does anyone know why or how to resolve this issues? I have not filed this form for this quarter and there is not a version of this filed form showing up in my history of filed forms.

Payroll filing 941

Thanks for keeping in touch with us here in the Community, @Jessestavern.

You're unable to electronically file the 941 tax form for the first quarter in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) since it's already due: When to e-file 941 tax form.

Also, ensure you meet the following requirements for e-filing 941 tax forms:

Then, you'll want to print your payroll forms to have a copy on hand. Just go to the Print and save your forms section of this resource for more details: Print payroll forms in QBDT.

Get back here in the Community if you have more questions about managing your payroll forms or anything else related to QuickBooks. I'll gladly assist you. Take care and have a nice day.
