Payroll historical data

We are showing historical data for payroll 2018, however we did not begin paying employees until 1/15/2019. How can I edit the historical payroll data to zero for 2018?

Payroll historical data

Hello @infiniteangelshhc.

Let me give you a few details about payroll historical data and guide you how to proceed.

If you've created a few manual paychecks, you can delete them so you can access your Prior Payroll page again. Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click on Workers, and choose Employees.
  2. Click on Paycheck List.
  3. Select the paycheck to be deleted.
  4. Click on Delete.

Once done, you can now remove your employee's historical data. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go back to your Employees tab.
  2. Click the name of the employee.
  3. On the Employees Details page, click on the pencil icon beside Pay.
  4. Scroll down to Step 6. Then select Edit (pencil icon) to edit the employee's pay history.
  5. You'll then be asked if you've created paychecks before January 1, 2019 or made some paychecks last 2018. Choose No.

Note that you need to perform the same steps to every employee profile.

If you've created multiple or direct deposit paychecks, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Customer Support. They can review your payroll account and change your Payroll Start Date. This way, your 2018 data would be removed and you can start fresh this 2019.

Here's how you can contact them:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose a topic and sub-topic.
  3. Scroll down to Get Phone Number or Start a Message.
