Thanks for reaching out to the Community forum, @avanderbilt.

Let me get the help you need when running payroll.

I have checked our system and haven't found any similar issue as yours. To isolate the problem, I recommend accessing your account through an incognito window and run payroll from there. Doing so will allow you to access QuickBooks Online (QBO) without using cookies.

You can use the keyboard shortcuts below to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

Once it's open, check to see if you're able to run payroll. If they are, then your main browser may have too much historical data from previously visited websites which slows down internal processes and causes this kind of behavior.

To ensure this doesn't happen again, it's a good idea to clear the cache of the browser you're using. The following article contains additional insight, as well as steps for the supported browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a great day!

I did Ctrl+Shift+N and cleared cache and cookies, even used a different browser and it is still not working. Quickbooks Online is been on a constant decline. This happens because your IT did an update not for the better but for worse. And I hate it when you do especially when it is payroll day. Definitely looking for other software to run payrolls with. We are paying too much for a software  that is constantly failing

Hi there, @lindalt1.

I know how important payroll is to a business and I want to make sure you're able to run it so you can pay your employees.

To get this payroll concern sorted out, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools that can help further investigate the root cause of this behavior since clearing your browser's cache didn't work.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Hit on the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Press on Let's talk.
  5. Select on Get a callback.
  6. Key in your contact details, then tap on Confirm my call.

Once fixed, you can now run payroll and pay your employees. You may utilize this reference to guide you with the process: Learn how to run payroll in your QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Stay in touch if you have any other questions about payroll or anything concerning QuickBooks. I'd be pleased to help.

Payroll isn't allowing me to process payroll this week. It says you can not run payroll at this time: Payeecalculatedpayments

It is not only my payroll that’s been hit with this issue our firm’s clients too. First thing this morning, I have chatted with one of your agents asking if SUI filing for Oklahoma and New Mexico is available yet, he answered my questions.  But somehow he did something on his end because when I am about to process payrolls I got this error message. When I called (after 45 minutes of waiting), another agent told me the problem was caused by a Q4 SUI tax already scheduled for payment in January 2021. It so happened that the accounts affected by this error were the clients I provided to the agent I chatted with.  We process multiple payrolls every week, especially Mondays and Tuesdays. These are critical days for our firm to process payrolls. I lost 2 hours worth of work dealing with this. So tell me, how can I trust your tech support if they’re the one that caused the problem? Also, it is a bad move removing features that you have from the previous platform i.e editing payroll taxes. I found out during the call that we can no longer edit/delete scheduled tax payments, that we will have to call your tech support which requires at least an hour to get ahold of somebody to delete them for us. This is a very very un-smart move for Intuit. Not all clients are accurate when they send in their payrolls. Sometimes they will have to edit some of their employees’ hours, (i know because we’ve been doing this for decades). Most of our clients have bi-weekly payrolls, so if we will need to make an adjustment with payroll taxes, we will waste at least an hour on the phone to get it fixed which the old platform let us do this task easily.
