Payroll tax payment schedule not correct.

I'm having trouble matching up the 2019 tax tabel from the IRS with my QB payroll. I 've already downloaded the latest change.

I've got a single employee who grossed $234 for the week. The IRS table states that $8 should be withheld for Fed but QB didn't withhold any.

I double checked the data for the employee and all is correct.

Any ideas?

Payroll tax payment schedule not correct.

Let's get this sorted out, Marty1403.

Our software calculates the Federal Withholding based on these factors:

  • Taxable wages
  • Number of allowances/dependents
  • Pay frequency
  • Filing status

And, these are the possible reasons why it's not calculating the tax:

  • Annualized salary exceeds the salary limit
  • The gross wage of the employees are too low

Thanks for confirming that the employee's profile is set up correctly. Let's try to manually calculate the employee's paycheck, then check if it matches with QuickBooks. To help us figure out the exact withholding amount, go through the IRS 2018 Publication 15. Use the Percentage method (page 44-45). This is the same method used by QuickBooks to calculate the Federal Withholding.
