Join nowI've done all the payroll updates but still cannot get payroll to deduct tax. I've uninstalled my QB desktop 19. Reinstalled it from backup. I've done the data reboot and still payroll does not update. It's appears that the link clicks off before the update is finished. The update then says that I've received everything but to make sure to go back on BEFORE 9/23/21. Today is 10/21/21. It's stuck in the past for some reason. Any help?
Allow me to help you from here, @T-Rex1.
Let me share some information that can help you update your payroll.
First, make sure to update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. We can also fix this by verifying and rebuilding the company file. It will scan the program for possible damage date file errors and help resolve them. I'll show you how to do that.
Here's how:
If it still doesn't update, you can verify your data. If the verification fails, QuickBooks recommends rebuilding your company file to ensure no data issues.
Check this article for your reference: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Then, you can now revert pending payroll checks.
Keep me posted if you have other questions about payroll updates. I'm always here to help.
We have the latest release. F2 on QB tells me that I have R16_34 activated. The scan showed no data file errors. I rebuilt the data and it came back rather quickly with no issues found. Next suggestion?
Also, I looked at my Norton security to see if the firewall was restricting access to QB. I turned it off and did another "update QB desktop". Also did payroll update "Download entire payroll update". Rebooted QB desktop. Went back to "pay employees". "Payroll Alert-Update Now" says it's been 56 days since last update. I click "get updates". There's about a 2 sec connection with QB before saying I've received the latest payroll update and validated my subscription. It "strongly" recommends I go online again BEFORE 9/25/21. Today is 10/21/21.
