We are getting notifications via email that we need to pay for our Quickbooks payroll service. However, we signed up to have you do our payroll as direct deposit through payroll assisted about 6 months ago so doesn't that void the need for the other payroll service?

An email notification will be sent about 45 days in advance prior to the renewal. It's possible that you were able to subscribe to another payroll service that's about to renew.
Additionally, your payroll service is active if you were able to use the direct deposit feature. There isn't a need subscribe to a new one if that's the case.
We can verify its status and if it is up for renewal by logging in to the QuickBooks Payroll Account Maintenance (AM) page. Here's how:
I'd also suggest reaching out to our Payroll Support Team so they can look into your active payroll services. Please take note of the account number from the email so you can provide it to our agents.
To reach them, click the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help. Click the Contact us link. Enter your concern about the email notification that you need to pay your payroll service. Then, click Continue. Choose to either Message an Agent or Talk to Specialist.

Ok - so here is the deal....we were paying for the service that basically updates tax tables and such. That is what has expired and they are wanting me to renew...However, QB now does all of our payroll so why do I need the previous service anymore? Shouldn't that be included with my new plan?
Ok - so we had previously paid yearly for payroll updates. That is the service that they are wanting me to renew. We signed up to have QB do ALL of the payroll for us so wouldn't that make the other service unnecessary?
