I do payroll for a company using QuickBooks desktop my client has QuickBooks online, how do I transfer his info into his qb online?

Hello Mandi,

 

Thanks for taking the time to post today. I will share information about transferring your client’s payroll data.

 

We're unable to transfer payroll data alone from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. However, you can try to look for third-party apps that can do this task.

 

If your client has an existing QuickBooks Online Payroll subscription, they will need to enter the payroll data of each employee. They can do a lumpsum paycheck per quarter if they pay and report taxes quarterly. If they're still planning to get a payroll subscription, even better because they can enter historical data during setup.

 

On your side, you can prepare reports like Payroll Summary by Employee.

  1. Select Reports, then Employees and Payroll.
  2. Select Payroll Summary.
  3. Adjust the date range appropriately.
